Income statement: separate performance from the final result
An income statement is built from a locked trial balance and account map after recognition and cut-off are correct. Gross, operating, pre-zakat or tax and net steps separate product, activity, financing and result questions, so a balanced error can change performance meaning without changing net. Expenses follow a consistent function-or-nature policy, and principal-or-agent decision follows control and rights rather than invoice scale. Non-recurring items remain in result and are separated in analysis. Variance opens populations rather than creating entries, and net profit returns to equity and cash bridge on the same version before approval and distribution.
