When you need it

Three outputs from one source: a register HR approves, an entry that enters the books, and a file that goes to the bank. Any one of them drifting from the others is what makes month end exhausting.

The decision it supports

Start with “The components of pay”, then use the explanation to choose the next treatment or check.

What you receive

Work note: Payroll: from register to entry to transfer

A structured explanation, every official rate with source and review date, then a direct path to a lesson, tool or track.

An example you can inspect

Apply the decision: The components of pay

Gross pay adds basic pay and allowances. Deductions take out what goes to other bodies on the employee's behalf, chief among them their social insurance share. What remains is the net due to them.

The components of pay

Gross pay adds basic pay and allowances. Deductions take out what goes to other bodies on the employee's behalf, chief among them their social insurance share. What remains is the net due to them.

Neither the contribution base nor its rate is assumed from memory: some allowances count and some do not, so the figures are read from the month's own contribution invoice and the register's total is agreed to it.

An order that is never reversed

Approve the register, generate the entry, then the transfer file. Any edit to the register after the entry is generated requires regenerating everything after it, or what the bank holds parts company with what the books say.

The Wage Protection System compares what was actually transferred with what the contracts record, so a net transferred that differs from your register is a difference explained before the month ends, not after.
